Does anybody have dimensions of the folding salon table that came with the Carver 3207's from the 80's? I mean one like this, although I believe most of them had black laminate tops, not white.

Ours didn't come with one so I think I'm going to have to make one to match. Can't find a replacement on the 'net anywhere. I don't need exact dimensions with a micrometer, just rough. We have another Carver 3207 from the 80's a few slips away, but he doesn't have the original table either. We're trying to restore our boat to what it looked like originally. Amazing what you can still get though after all these years. We need to replace two nav lights for example -- Aqua Signal Series 25, still available and only $20.

Thanks.

Karl -

I still have one of these from my long gone 1986 Carver 3207.
Stored in the basement closet for the past 10+ years (wife keeps asking why?)
Has blue {laminate?] tops within the teak rather than the white shown.
Except for the distance involved, we could probably easily arrange something.
Let me know if you're interested in trying . . .

John -- I would definitely be interested. I've dropped off some suprisingly large things at a UPS store and they handle everything, boxing, padding, shipping, and then it magically appears on our doorstep. By the time I get through with buying the teak or mahogany, all the hardware, finish, and all the time involved, buying yours might be a lot easier. Do you want to set a price and I'll check shipping options in your area? (Tried to send an email or private message to you, but it doesn't seem to work for some reason.) Thanks very much for the reply. Karl

Likely you are unable to send PM without an anchor.
Post your e-mail address or phone number here, and I'll follow up.

I hope it works out with finding a table. as far as the color it usally matched the counter top color. for example our counter tops are pink/red. the table formica is the same color. they are a great table. good luck

I have one of those tables in my '82 Carver 3007. I will be at the boat tonight. I'll measure the table and post the dimensions here.

It took me a few days but here are the dimensions and some photos of the hi-lo table in my '82 Carver 3007 aft cabin:

In its raised position the table stands 29" high. The drop-leaf mechanism is made by B. Walter & Co.: http://www.bwalter.com/products/dls.html

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any thing else on this.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for all those specs and photos. That's far more detail than I ever hoped to have. Diagram even! This is such a helpful forum. That clearly took you a good chunk of time and effort, I really appreciate it.

And John, I never did get back to you on buying and shipping yours. My apologies. I got jerked away on a couple business trips and then distracted by other boat repairs and didn't get back to you as I should have. You mentioned it was blue, which means we'd have to replace the top to match our black counters now, so I think I might take "Rapscallion's" diagram instead and make a custom table with a compass inlay personalized to our boat as a winter project later this year.

Thanks again very much to both of you for being so helpful. If I can ever return the favor in any way, please let me know. Thanks.

Coincidentally I paid my dues earlier today, looks like it just hasn't taken effect yet, no anchor yet. John's offer to sell me his table and Rapscallion's response made it worth the $19 right there.

No problem, Karl. This forum has been such a great help to me; I'm more than happy to try to do something in return. If you would like the Google Sketchup file for your table project you're more than welcome to it. I use Sketchup for all my woodworking projects -- I make all the mistakes on the computer before cutting any wood!

Let me know if you'd like it and I'll send it to you by email.

Likewise, if building a new table becomes too much of a task,
my [blue] table is still sitting unused.
I think a compass inlay sounds great, though!
Good luck
John

I have searched Hi and Lo (pun intended) for one of these tables. Any chance you still have yours John and would like to sell it?

Amazing connection after all this time.
I do still have it - unfortunately stored in Nashville -
And (fortunately) I'm in south Florida for the winter.
It's pretty heavy (solid and stable) - not sure you'd want to ship it to Ontario.
If so (and you're not in a hurry), it should be available once I dig it out.
Might be interesting to see how kthoennes made out with his production?
(Esp as to cost and end result)

John, sent you an email last week. Please confirm receipt. Nice to know there is one available. Spring will be perfect.
Cheers

Sorry - did not receive your e-mail, Stan.
Try a PM? Don't think my e-mail is in my profile.
Will be cruising this week, but get back to you after next weekend.
