Fort Lauderdale Boat Parade

Hope those of you who can enjoy tomorrow night's boat parade. I am not sure about the new route up the New River, but I am going to just take a couple of folding chairs to the river and a cooler and hope for decent weather. I figure that the possibilities of a couple of the big yachts bumping into each other is highest around the railroad bridge with its narrow channel, so I'll be near there.

I was in Ft. Lauderdale for the lighted boat parade a few years back. Held up the departure of my cruise ship, The Sun Princess. Was a beautiful sight though..I'm glad I got to see it!

The Fort Lauderdale SUN SENTINEL has a few dozen very good photos posted on their site.

Apparently the use of tugs aided considerably in the tight quarters downtown. Beautiful show.

that was some amazing towing. The tug in the rear was pullung backwards and in one case I thought his stern would be pulled under as he turned a big boat.
