As the winter keeps pounding us, I'm trying to get a new boat in the water by spring. I may have found one, but I haven't been on it yet. It's about 8 hours away, so before we finalize on pricing and hop in the car I'd love to find somebody that has one, knows somebody that has one etc, just to climb aboard see if it's big enough and then get a deal done.

Do you know anybody that has a 2010 or older Four Winns Vista 318 or 2011+ V335. They are the same boat, but of course they renamed the model along with everyone else recently to make it sound bigger.

Any help is much appreciated.

I'd encourage you to float your question out on ifourwinns dot com. Good, knowledgable group who can likely help you out. Had a V358 for three years. Absolutely loved it.

If you are coming off a 268 I think you will enjoy the extra space in a similar layout. I found ours to have good size and features over our 288...was a true step up...biggest warning would be whether or not it has the composite outdrives which have caused issues for many on this board...I actually had one crack in the gimbal housing that cost me almost two months of one season on those drives but was fortunate that I traded the boat in before getting hit with the many other issues they had. Boat itself, really nice.

Joe, I appreciate the thoughts. That really is my biggest concern. I want it to be a real step up. It is a 2011 and doesn't have the composite drives. I have stayed away from anything with those drives. Lots of issues. Sounds like you got lucky getting out in time.

I was initially thinking of 34-37' - but sometimes the right boat (< 50 hours & joystick) just walks in front of you. I like the slab berth instead of the v berth, I think it saves a lot of space in the cabin.

Any other things to think of or specifically check out? I'm going to see the boat this weekend as we have an accepted offer.

Thanks for the wishes!

I hope I have a nice boat lol! Let you know soon!

A buddy bought his 318 the year after us and still has it and loves it...he has had to deal with composite drive issues and I believe just had the risers/manifolds done last year. Three person and small dog family that uses it every weekend and for their summer vacations with few complaints. Would never argue you out of the bigger size and I have no idea how FourWinns current customer service situation is...which did become an issue for me when they were going through their sale a few years back...but still think the 318 is a very nice boat...best of luck and enjoy.
