"An experienced and respected river advocacy group, FOR seeks a strong leader who can help California's rivers meet the tremendous challenges posed by the increasing demands for water, threats from climate change, and economic pressures. The mission of Friends of the River (FOR) is to protect, restore, and sustain California rivers by influencing public policy and inspiring citizen action. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for preserving and restoring California's rivers, and will have demonstrated the leadership and abilities to:
Grow funding and membership to support expanded operations
Tell the story of California's rivers to engage the public and stakeholders
