KCRA TV channel 3 did a feature on the Frozen Bun Run for the 6 PM news New Year's day. I saw Dave's son do a sterling run... great work!

Looks like everyone had a good time. I put in a few Delta days myself late last week but worked today.

The KCRA coverage included a shot of a big banner that someone from Bethel Island must have put up: "A Small Drinking Community with a Fishing Problem."

yzer, that banner was hung by the Rusty Porthole management several years ago......

I attended the run as did hundreds of others. At times one couldn't walk through the crowd to get to the beer! Lots of nice folks on Harley's were there showing off their great leather attire. The day started out foggy, but by 11AM the sun was out in the afternoon and it became quite warm.

It was exciting to see Daniel do such a great job of showing some of the adults how it is done! He's a great kid. Dave is rightfully proud to be his father.

I saw lots of the "summertime" folks who are now back in hiding until the stormy season has passed.

Rusty Porthole will NOT be closing this year for maintenance. I guess nothing broke in the kitchen this year. So they will be open Thursday thru Mon. Breakfast Saturday and Sunday only. http://www.rustyporthole.com/

Wow, that Daniel is a brave kid! Braving the cold, and able to ski with all of the pressure of the crowd, LOL! Whew...

Hear all of that appluase? Fantastic...

Way to go, Daniel!!!

Thanks for the great links Yzer and everybody. I didn't get to see the news footage so this was a great treat! It's been quite a week for Dan; he waterskiied on Tuesday morning and was snow skiing on Thursday morning with me.

We're up at Alpine Meadows now and hoping to make it home tomorrow. We've got a bit of cabin fever having been stuck in the cabin for the better part of the last two days. They have let me out to shovel the Tahoe out of the snow a few times. LOL.

Hope everyone had a great New Years Celebration and orward to a good year.

I got a foot of snow at 3500 ft in 24 hrs; most of it fell within a 3 hr period on Saturday. Today, I even saw a bit of sunshine!!!! Have a safe trip home.
