I'm replacing my 87 454 Crusaders (with dyno tested remans) this winter and am looking to upgrade to FWC-full system. I'm also replacing all of the exhaust iron. In an earlier (Dec) topic on this subject, George had me call Steve Janez of Cool Craft to see what model FWC kit he had that would fit my engine. Steve assured me that the CC454FM-6 (full system kit) would work and would be easy to install. The price, abt $700 per kit, seemed good.
Now, I'm ordering my engines through Marine Engines, Inc. in Holliston, MA. In regard to the FWC kit through Cool Craft, they said. "don't do it!" --that the CoolCraft's FWC kits wouldn't work (won't attach right) with my engine and that I'd be better off ordering a Crusader FWC kit (price would be a few hundred higher)through them. Anybody have any suggestions on who to order from?
