Gas Tank Leak

Tank came out through the cabin after cutting access large enough. Found two very small holes in the bottom. Having a new tank made, should be finished in a week or so, and should go right back in the same way. Will keep you updated and let you know how it goes with the re-fiberglassing of the interior. Fingers crossed! Again, thanks for all the comments.

Bob, developed leak in my port tank on my '93, 37C a couple years back. Decided to replace both because of age. These came out thru the cockpit deck which obviously had to be removed. I installed both & prepped for F/G guy. Bottom line; out of pocket $8K.

Finally back on the water! Has a new aluminum gas tank fabricated and have it back in with new hoses, clamps, straps, etc. New tank went back in through the cabin and went pretty smoothly. The bulkhead was fiberglassed back to ensure a vapor free barrier but the seat bases and surrounds were reinforced with bracing behind the actual cuts and screws were used to fasten the halves together. A small seam of caulk was used to fill in where the saw blades cut through. We used screws to fasten the panels together rather than fiberglass just in case we ever need to remove the new tank. If you must have pictures send me an e-mail and I'll reply with several jpegs.
