Hi everyone,

Saw this article in ENR and thought you guys might be interested in reading.

If you go to enr dot com, there is a video along the left hand side that you can play - not sure how long that will be up there.

enr.construction dot com/infrastructure/environment/2012/0813-hudson-river-pcb-cleanup-progresses.asp

IF this link doesn't work, go to www.enr dot com - along the right hand side is the print version and click on archives - title of article is "Lessons from the Hudson River PCB Clean Up project"

Hope you are all doing well. The Admiral is still unemployed, thus I'm still helplessly boatless. Enjoy the second half of the season.

Interesting we passed the action. Between locks 6 and 8 on the Champlain canal. Barges and tugs everywhere. Dredging ops going 24hrs a day 6 days a week. When you enter the area you are instructed to contace vessel traffic control for info on who's going where as it's a tight space. Couple of times we had to wait while tugs with barges locked through. Once we were asked by a tug operator to hang in wide area of the canal while he passed. Have to say the vessel operators where very friendly and polite. Interesting experience.

Harlan, how the hell are you. Were are you and the boat. It was great seeing you when you visited Stony Point NY in July ( I think). I hope all it well.

Bob,
We are home! 2053 miles on the water, got home about 10 days ago. We had a really great time, saw lots of beautiful country. It was great meeting you guys and your families at Stony Point. Hope you all can come to Louisiana so we can return the hospitality. Hope the family is doing well.

Thanks for sharing the PCB Clean up video. Many of the locals upstate are just tired of all the hoopla about the dredging and wish it would all go away. For one thing, there's precious little navigational dredging going on anywhere which everyone thinks is a heckuva lot more important.

Glad people are enjoying their trips up and down the River!
