I own a 1993 252 Valanti that seems to have some sort of electrical glitches. Here's what happens. If the radio is on and you use the pressurized water system it makes the radio fade in and out and shut off. No clue what is going on here. Also, when operation requires use of nav lights they will suddenly shut off after about 10 minutes. After cycling the switch off/on they will come back on. This only happens when under way. I've tried replacing the switch but problem persists. Any one else having similar condition or have suggestions?

sounds like you have a bad ground on your electrical panel or battery bank. start at the battery and clean the terminals, work backwards up to the panel and clean/lubricate the terminals. check for loose wires and do the same in reverse with the positive side from the battery bank. corrosion and loose fittings will do what you are describing. head down to westmarine for some CRC electrical cleaner/lubricant, i forget the # of the formula but you'll have no trouble they are clearly labled on front what they are intended for.

Vic, batteries look good, and should. I just replaced them this past summer. I pulled the switch panel and it looks like I do have some corrosion going on there. I intend to follow your advise and will let you know the results when I hit the water again this spring. Thanks.
