So, took the boat out and had a large crowd. Total of 19 people on board, including myself.. We were all comfortable and enjoyed ourselves, but I would say this is the limit for comfort.

Boat handled fine, but the extra 3000 lbs of people was noticeable on the old burn rate.

Did a quick swing up by the Intrepid, then down to the statue. We anchored by the park, between Ellis and the statue. Hung out, BBQ, beer, and music.

About 2 hours in, a NYC harbor patrol came by and asked for the paperwork and said they would be boarding. Gave them the paperwork, and they asked for a passenger count. Gave them that, and one of the officers made a comment of "I would hate to have to count if you have that many PFDs". I smiled and said, "Please do, I have over 20 on board.", which is completely true.

They asked some questions about the documentation, etc, and then gave back the paperwork and went on their way.

They were very polite and professional. I appreciated that they we doing the safety check and also appreciated that they realized I was not one of the people they had to worry about on this holiday, since I was not drinking, had all the equipment on board and an EPIRB.

Then some more food and drink, and a 9PM run up the east river to South Street Seaport, back around the tip of Manhattan, and home.

Everyone had a great time, and the weekend is kicked off.

Tomorrow, is Paintball practice, the Admiral has to work in the AM, and then she and I will be off until Tuesday. Probably gonna run down to Sandy Hook and spend the two days there. Should be enjoyable.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Sounds like a great day, and everybody acted proffesionally. Love it when everything works as plans.

We are heading up the ICW to Bird Island off the coast on Little River, SC today. I only hope our day will be as enjoyable as yours was.
