We took our boat the "FAT CAT"out last weekend for some sailfishing off the Pacific coast of Guatemala. We have the best sailfishing in the world and regularly get multiple hookups of sailfish. Last Sunday was the fist time "Joe"a friend of my son had been fishing on our new boat and it was the first time he had ever caught a sailfish. He had a great time and we ended the day with two big dorado and two sails. The Dorado Ceviche on the way in topped the day like an exclamation mark does to a good story.
Anyone know of any good traditions on what to do for somoen who has caught their first billfish or Sailfish?
In the South Pacific the first fish or the day is taken aboard the heart is taken out and (still beating) is eaten... this ensures good luck for the rest of the fishing trip...
anyone else hear of this?
