We are plannig on a four day weekend on BI . Anyone have any advice on a decent marina about the half way point in the sound either side is ok with us. ( L.I. or Conn. )
Nothing too fancy is needed for us just clean showers and a place to fire up the BBQ and have a few cold ones for the night. Our boat is only 25 ft.

We plan on leaving Stony Point on the morning of 9/23 and plan on stopping half way for the first leg of the trip. Then plan for B. I. on the 24th to the 28th and non stop back home .

Thanks in advance....Jon.

Jon,

Milford CT. That leaves you about a 3-3.5 hour run to Pond at about 20kts.

Danfords is nice, but alittle pricey and a long idle across Pt Jeff Harbor.

Saybrook Pt on the CT river is another option.

Clinton, Ct. is an easy in and out, restaurant next door, on-site van to take you into town........

Make sure to call ahead. When I took my boat home from RI two years ago on 9/23, many marinas closed at 5pm. We weren't sure how far we'd make it so I didn't have reservations. We pulled into New Haven, tied up to a gas dock and stayed there with no electric (or heat). Not a big deal, just giving you the heads up.

Have fun on your trip!!

The halfway point on the LI side is Mattituck, Matt-A-Marr marina is very nice. Port Jeff will leave with a very long ride to Block.

See if bob wants to go with you

Camp out on Plum Island! (kidding)
Could come around to Greenport to give you a pretty easy shot the next day.

Clinton is an easy in and out

Some things never change!

I thought Clinton was a lay over, but maybe Chris has it right.

If you're talking about a transom/platform mounted bbq, make sure you call ahead. Some/many marinas don't allow in slip bbq-ing.

Hmmm...decisions decisions ? ? ...

THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE GANG !!!! it was greatly appriceated.
Best whishes , Jon
