Has Anyone Tried a Toroidal Propeller?

The reduction in noise was demonstrable but had me wondering about engine/exhaust noise.

Actually my understanding is the people who make my propeller, Hartzell are experimenting as is the German maker, M-T. I would look for them on turbo-prop aircraft first as that is where the money would pay back the quickest.
 
I only would try it on a boat I would have for 10 or more years.. otherwise there would be no payback.....they are expensive!

Good luck finding a place to repair or tune it up.
 
They make this (Sharrow) for my Yamaha, in fact Yamaha is partnering with them, however........I'm not paying $5k for an outboard prop, I don't care how good it is.
