I was at Haverstraw Marina today and noticed that Bob Wheeler was escorting an entourage of suits (3 men and a lady) all around the South docks. I went to my boat and about a half an hour later I walked back towards the ships store and saw one of the suits taking pictures from the top of the main dock ramp. Now, admittedly, this could mean nothing at all, but we could play the speculation game. I have heard a rumor or two about Brewers having a possible interest in Haverstraw Marina, but that's part of the speculation game.

The guys from Brewers don't wear suits.

Well if were gonna "speculate"...
Maybe... someone will bring haverstraw marina back to the Pete Napoli days. Any you guys remember them good old days ?

If they wear suits they may be a condo developer looking to upscale Haverstraw.

Maybe turn it into condos and send you all scrambling to find slips!

Not sure if Pete Napoli and good go together.

I remember, and don't remember anything good about it.

It ain't me gang. While some have thought that way, rest assured, we don't have the pockets for it.

With the new restaurant almost ready to open and the way they have "spruced up" the place (except the docks) in the last year, I'm not thinking condo development at this time.

Perhaps they are from a frontline comitee making sure it's safe there, to see the upcoming bands booked at the tiki bar...in my experiencce, this is not uncommon, when the act warrents such scrutiny. They are probably scoping it out for the show on July 12,2008, in my humble opinion

Robyns Nest,
Petes a good friend of mine and sorry to hear you say that, back then thigs were booming & boats were everywhere.
Back then he was one of the largest boat dealers on the east coast , and that marina was a real pig before that. Thoes were the days man , cheap boats ,cheap gas ,cheap slips, and lots of fun as I recall, anyway like I said am sorry to hear you say that but I guess it wasn't for everyone.
Best whishes all, Jon

Nothing personal against Pete, but his organization gave me lots of grief with 2 crap boats they sold me. Prep work and service from them was horrible.

Yeah, the good old days.

I agree the dealerships that Pete owned were horrible. (edited by moderator). If he was involved that WOULD make me move the boat out of Haverstraw to another marina or my back yard.

haha - I wanted to do the same. I'll get an anchor one of these days then you can tell me.

on a lighter note, the admiral made the call to sleep on the boat this weekend. Last week she took the helm and said we need to personalize the name, this week she's making the call to spend the weekend. All the praying is working. go hrcc. Rommer nice to meet you last weekend, we just beat the storm.

Those suits were my lawyers. I'm looking for a good investment.

Why then invest in anything related to the boating industry?

It's sinking rather quickly!!!
