As a new owner of a Bayliner Cierra 2455 (88 model) The pump out for the heads is a puzzle to me. Is there a divertor to pump out overbaord or do you require a seperate pump to empty the holding tank.. Any help on the " little problem" as i am carrying the previous owners problem with me !!!! would be greatly appreciated,,, Thanks

depends how it was setup... you need to look at the plumbing and see what you have.

from the holding tank you should have 2 hoses, one to a pump out fitting on the gunwale, where you connect the hose from the dock pump out station and one going to a macerator (pump), which can also be connected directly to the tank. from the pump, it goes overboard. in some set up you coudl have one hose out of the tank with a Y to either the macerator or the pump out. depends on the boat. just look at the plumbing, it will be obvious.

you CANT use the macerator within 3 miles of shore and it must be locked when within 3 miles (valve with padlock or key switch)...

Pascal is correct in describing HOW the plumbing should be, and that basically you have to crawl around and have a "look-see," to see exactly how the plumbing is configured.

Don't know for sure what the laws are in the UK - he described the U.S. laws.
