After a 7 year absence I'm back on the water locally with my new to me 1985 Boston Whaler Montauk 17. Its good to see many familiar RO's still here and active. I'll be cruising the Great South Bay from Point Lookout to Ocean Beach on fire island and all points in between.

From what I read about the current condition of the GSB, you got the perfect new boat!
 
I believe my draft is 9" with the engine up! I do have a Towboat US membership just in case!
 
Welcome back and congratulations on your 20-ft boat. A good friend tells me any Whaler is as capable as any other boat Three Feet Longer. What O/B is back there? One of my CGAUX members has a Montauk 17 that we've run a lot of missions on. 90 Yammie. Great boat! Enjoy!

im guessing a spare prop & prop wrench is all you need
