Any tips for seeing Baron Hilton's fireworks. I've heard people raft up in the three river reach.

The fireworks can be seen all over the greater Stockton Channel area. You can even see them from Mildred Island. Three River Reach is packed with boats and not protected from the winds. So raft ups tend to slip anchor easily. If you want to see the antics during the day, Mandeville Tip is the center of it all. But if you don't get anchored this weekend, forget about finding a spot over there. I prefer to find a quiet anchorage off the beaten path and stay safely overnight. After the fireworks there are hundreds of boats leaving to go back to their docks. The entire area is declared a No Wake Zone by the CG, but many boats travel on plane; often the skippers have been drinking all day; some boats do not have nav lights or the skipper forgets to turn them on. Stay out over night and stay safe!!!!!

It is much better to be close to the fireworks, however. It is Much more impressive. I did learn one year not too get to close, at least not downwind. We had a great spot and the kids loved it. We spent the night in the raft up and then the next morning I got up to wipe up the boat and the dew. The sulfur from the exposive mix had rained down on the boat, and then it combined overnight with the water, making sulfuric/ous acid. It left little marks all over the gel coat and bleach marks on the canvas.

dugs----I'm glad your boat did not catch on fire as you slept!
