For those of you who enjoy our trips to Tall Timbers Marina on the Potomac River, this is sad news.
The houseboat that burned is the one right behind the restaurant where Keith, the cook, lived. He lost everything he owned. The cause of the fire is being investigated, but in the cold weather, it may have been caused by a space
heater. Just something to keep in mind when using heaters during the winter instead of winterizing. In this case, he lives onboard and was there to call the fire department as soon as possible. Luckily, this boat was tied to the bulkhead and
not under cover in a shed or in a slip beside other boats. If it had been, the story would have been much worse.

Keith lost everything including his clothes He is 5.6.. He wears size 48 pants, 4x shirts and jackets and size 12 shoes if anyone has some hand me downs they would like to donate. The warmer the better.

The Potomac River Yacht Club is discussing how its members can contribute. If others are interested in participating, please let me know and I will forward further details when available.
