Donning a a Gumby cold water survival suit prior to getting wet is my 1st line of defense. I had completely forgotten my wife and I got fitted for them at the AC Boat showing in 2007. Only after cleaning out the Mainship did I realize we still had them and they were in perfect shape. They are now on the Gulfstar with our 406MHz PLBs.
I think staying with or on top of the vessel is also important how many times have you read the vessel was found but not the crew?
