I used to plan and co-ordinate the yearly trips with a bunch of friends and quickly learned you can please some of the people some of the time and all of the people NONE of the time!
These days we prefer to plan our own trips, share the itinerary and if we cross paths with friends that's great. We have no qualms about traveling solo. In fact some of our best memories are the solo parts.
FWIW - traveling with a large group means you can only go to the most popular of places and even then it can be hard to get everyone into a slip. Traveling solo opens up many more places. Most marinas can always squeeze in one more boat but 5 or 6 is a no go!
I feel the same way. I plan my trip and tell others, if they want to come along, fine, if they want to meet, fine, if they want to go to Belmar - well, that's fine too!
PS - thanks, John, now I know who to blame...
