Thinking about these inline flusher that you can connect a garden hose to for engine flushing. The thing has a check valve so that the hose pressure shuts off the raw water intake automatically. This would be on an inboard application. The one I saw online is manufactured by Perko and is made of clear plastic.
The problem I have is that I go to the trouble of installing wire reinforced hose and double clamp everything with quality stainless clamps to prevent the boat from sinking from a hose failure on the raw water intake. If I then go and put this plastic thing in line after the seacock doesn't that negate the precautions taken with the hose and clamp quality. What if this plastic thing cracks, breaks, etc. Is this a real concern or am I making much to do about nothing.
