1995 Sea Ray 330, twin 7.4 Jasper Remanufactured long blocks. Approx 8 hours on each engine. 500 hours total (existing hour plus 8 new hours).
Per the mechanice who did the install (we purchased the boat after the install) the carbs are the originals. Anything attached to the engine is the original.
Port engine was puffing black smoke and rumbling. Mechanic stated the choke 'butterfly' was off and he adjusted it. Now the starboard engine is doing the same thing.
11 year old boat, first 10 years were in brackish water. Carbs have 500 hours on them. Boat has been well taken care of, receipts document regular engine service.
Is it time for newremanufactured carbs? If yes, what is the best solution...kits, remanufactured, new? And, who is a good source for the parts?
