Those of you in SJC got a letter notifying about how they will be shifting to ethanol (or is it methanol) additive fuel to stay in compliance with the new law (what law is that?). I thought years ago there were issues with alcohol based additives causing rapid degradation of rubber in the rubber fuel lines.

The letter warned us about getting rid of water/sludge in the fuel tank as the ethanol will absorb the water and the sludge - thus causing damage in the engine. But, there are some alcohol-based additives that are suppose to remove water that way (I use non-alcohol based ADSORB) anyway.

But, should we consider replacing the rubber fuel lines, now?
