I am having a problem getting my head to draw water. I have blown air through the intake line(bubbles under the hull), and used my wet dry vac to suck water up to the head. I have filled the bowl up to the brim, several times to prime it -- still nothing.

Have you done your annual servicing and lubing of the valves/pump?

I had two Jabsco johns go south on me. I recommend switching to Raritan. Caddy vs. a Yugo.

Is it an electric head? Probably needs a new impeller; it's not that big a hassle to change.

I got tired of the noise though and took the intake impeller out, and installed a remote pump down by the water line to flush. We're much happier.

I am not aware of the servicing that needs to be done. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with the wet - dry valve. It pumps out in both positions with the same amount of resistance. Thanks for the answers

Buy the correct rebuild kit from this site and get to work. I have same head, just newer, and rebuild every other season as part of regular maintenace. Head works like new. Should take about an hour. You still might need to take a hose from intake side and force water through to get it primed, but once you do that you should be fine.

I agree with Liquid Diet, the pump needs to be serviced and boatfix has them. Before the kit arrives you can remove the pump arm (4 screws), there is an o-ring at the bottom of the pump pull and lubricate. I use petrolium jelly in a pinch but silicone grease is what should be used(same as pool pump) and reassemble. If you use the jelly do not use too much as you do not want it in your holding tank.

And dump a few gallons of water thru the toilet just to make sure you have a good rinse before you start takin things apart. ;)

Thanks for the help, I called Jabsco and their advice is to replace the pump gasket. They think that the gasket may have become malformed???? Will replace it and let you know if that solves the problem..

Jabsco customer service solved my problem. Replacing the top valve-gasket and spring did the trick. It works like brand new, and an easy job.--1/2 Hr tota!! Thanks for all the other tips, will put them on file for future reference.

Do not use bleach or similar chemicals to clean the head.... it wreaks havoc on those rubber parts.
