I am replacing a pump out Porto-poti with a Jabsco manual flush toilet and a small waste tank. Will the toilet work off of the pressurized water system? If not, I have to pull the water line the length of the boat and there is no easy path.

My manual Jabsco draws water from the lake by a through hull using a pump on toilet. Drains to black water tank with pump out to stern.

Especially in FW lakes, most everyone just installs a thru-hull and quality seacock close to the head to supply it. That helps conserve the contents of the FW tank .
But as long as you keep the head supply valve closed as standard procedure when not flushing I don't see why you can't use conservatively pressurized water.

That supply hose ( added to toilet bowl and flush passage & holding tank and pump) will then be 1 more item you have to be very sure to run sufficient non-tox A/F through at fall layup over there in the beautiful Andirondacks.

I could do the thru-hull but would rather not. We use it as a day boat and the fresh water tank I’d more than enough.

My Silverton uses water from the tank to flush. There is an electric solenoid valve to open and allow pressure. I believe there is also a check valve in case for some reason the black water wants to back flow. Also, I was wondering why the solenoid was mounted high but I'm assuming in case the bowl fills and tries to gravity feed back to the fresh water tank. Fairly safe. I have had the thru-hull flushing and it can get stinky as there are organisms in the lake water that die and smell. The clean water is much better IMHO, plus I boat in brackish water.

Jabsco does make models that are for use with pressurized fresh water. I do not think the manual toilet is one of these models. My old Silverton had its Traveler toilet replaced with a electric toilet for pressurized water. Read the manuals to find what you are looking for.

I prefer the manual flush for this application. Keep it simple, usually “light” use only. No overnights. I’ll probably just figure out how to pull the water line through.
