June 30 - tonight - Astoria Park Fireworks

Hi folks,

There are fireworks tonight in astoria park (Grucci) and im going to boat over. Was wondering if anyone else is? I figure way less crowded than Fridays extravaganza.

I heard they actually fire them off at Randalls Island, but the pre-concert and viewing is from Astoria Park.

Anyone know where i should try to setup shop for viewing?

Wish I could tag along but broke the boating budget for the week, HAVE A GOOD TIME !
We are going to Macys on fri. the 4th are you gonna make it to that one too?

Hey Jonf,

I've got other plans for Friday night (friend has an outdoor deck (30' x 40') on the 10th floor in Sunnyside that lets us see the show from all the barges and its a great party so we are doing that.

Last night we were one of only 3 boats under the tri-boro bridge watching the show and it was AWESOME! We had some food, some drinks, some music and a wide open view of the show. Other than us 3 spectator boats there were 4 patrol (coast guard, homeland, police) boats there......we were outnumbered.

Show was over and we were back to our Marina in like 20 minutes.......great night. Being that it's a Grucci show its now small time thing. I highly recommend it for anyone for next year!
