Hi everyone, I realized I've been away for quite some time and thought I'd just make a post to simply ask, "how is everyone??" Hope your summer is going great, please feel free to post some pics or chat about how your Carver is creating enjoyment for your family this year.

Mine is, unfortunately, at the dock most of the time this year. But my 12 year old son and I are spending time working on the engines, and I'm impressed that he wants to learn something about it. So there is hope for the future! Now if I could just find a way to better afford that $4.00/gal marine grade gas!

$4.00 a gallon, where are you Paul? We are paying $4.45 up here in Vermont and worse on the NY side of our lake.

hey pete. doing fine. boating locally due to other commitments this season. hope to make it up the hudson again next year.

Thanks Bruce, likewise I cant wait to get back to salt water again. Now that we live even further upstate it may be awhile! Sitting on the boat typing this though, we finally got a few days out on the water :)

Carvervirgin - well you got me there. Its definitely well over $4 per gallon on the waterways. If one has a trailerable boat they might find $3.90 or so per gallon marine grade gas at places like the Route 67 Grille in Charlton NY, but thats only good if you are headed someplace nearby, such as Sacandaga Lake. Oh well, sometimes its nice just hanging out, we really dont have to go far, and the way my boats are running these days (lousy!) we would be better off staying close to our home port anyhow!

See you all soon!
Pete

4.80 to 5.10 here in portland ore. Glad to be in a YC so we get ours a bit cheaper, 4.17 last weekend!

$4.19 at Cedar Point, but about 50 cents higher in Cleveland.

I love gas price threads!
Us Canadians can always make everyone else feel good!!
$6.15 per US gallon here in the marina.
$8.50 out on the Island.

Wow rythmstrat! That's a lot of cash per gallon. Has it gone up dramatically like it has here, or is it pretty stable?

Nope. Pretty stable. In fact our marina has a normal (understood, not spoken) policy of usually not more than one price change per season.
We are paying $1.62 per litre (multiply X 3.8 to convert to US gallons). It went up $.05 per litre part way thru. Last year, we paid $1.47, increasing to $1.52
Gas (delivered by boat) at Sans Souci Island, is considerably more expensive, of course, and most only use it when they feel they're running low, and can't get home. I've heard rumours of $2.28 there this year. Last year I paid $1.99, so that seems plausible.
Needless to say, lots of folks are not going far!

Or they'll just confiscate the boats and give them to others who can't afford boats. Have to end the tragic social injustice of some people cruising while others have to stay on shore.
