Hi guys/gals...

Just realized I hadnt posted on here in quite awhile so felt like saying hi. How's everybody doing?
 
Hi Pete. Broke my boat. Shafts and props are expensive!

Are you doing any boating or just working hard at your new position?
 
We are doing great. Had a fantastic two week trip out east, the weather has been fantastic and watched the Peekskill fireworks last night.
 
We are ok, as you are aware we bought a condo, and Freedom has been a bit of a dock Mary but at least she is floating this Summer. I am thinking in a week or two we take her out for a warm up so I can change the oil and get her ready for the next shot at Winter.

John, WTF? You folks ok?
 
We are fine and the boat is now OK as well. One thing I will say is the more that gets thrown at us the more I realize just how well prepared we are. We always seem to learn from adversity and come out better for it.

That said, two Thursdays ago was NOT a good day to be out in the Ocean. Long story short, we snapped a shaft and lost the prop. Diverted to an alternate port of call and left the boat there for repairs. 30-40knt winds across the bow with a single engine is NOT fun!
 
You're right, 30-40 knots winds is not ideal for any boating.

Do they have any idea why/how it snapped?
 
Dan, congrats on the new home, where did you end up buying? We were up your old place last weekend and talked to some of your old neighbors.I forgot there names but they have a mainship.
 
West Coast of Florida near Ft. Myers on the river. This way if we want we can travel across the lake or down to the Keys easily. I am thinking I know who that may have been, did Rita show up? Were you on F dock this time?
 
In a Mainship? Do you remember the boat name?
 
I was trying to remember, I think we may have had to much heat or something. Everything is blurry. Both were retired, she worked for the state. If I remember right they lived in another set of condos close to your old place.
 
No bells here either. Oh well. Sounds like you had a good time if yer still blurry!
 
My wife has reminded me that sounds like Hank and Kathy on Suite Dreams. They have a Mainship aft cabin and a couple of little foo foo dogs. We've known them for many years.
