I just read on the Delta Chambers link on Facebook that Kip Korth has just died. There was no mention of the cause.

Very sad news. He was an icon.

I am kind of shocked that so few people are commenting on the death of Kip, His marina is the highlight of the Delta loop,it was his vision that we all enjoy today. People of his caliber are few and far between,he will be missed.

Amen......one of my favorite hangouts whether by land or slough. Few comments are probably due to the dwindling activity on the site.....makes me sad

Wish Hal was still around.......how long has he been gone?

Truly the gem of the delta. Do the kids now a days even know what a delta rat is? when i am on the delta i always try to figure out -- do i love it because what it is? Or the great memories? Hal Kip and many more -- everyone thinks the sixties and seventies were great in the bay, They should have been on the Delta!!

Hal died in June of 2006. Am still kicking myself for not having him sign my hard copy edition of his "Cruising California's Delta" while he was at the Jack London boat show a while back.
