Is there anywhere, on a weekend day, to get a transient slip to run into town to eat or go shopping? We have launched at Fontana's public launch a few times, and been over my the Lake Geneva public docks, and it just looks like total chaos. Any helpful hints/secret spots would be appreciated.

If we were talking about a mid-week evening, is there anywhere to tie up and go to dinner?

Thanks for the help
Terry

I like Lake geneva. I put a 36 foot condo in the water at the abbey for the season.. Lake is a little boring, but with proper dock neighbors, its just right. Swimming is nice. lake is fairly clean ( really clean by southern wisc standards ) The weekends are of course a mad house.. weekdays and evenings really nice.. If you are into swiming etc.. you cant go wrong.. been skiing on lake mi lately !?

With all the rain, first "Slow No wake" restriction I can remember in a while. The big boats may not be able to get out of the harbor.

My in-laws are on Lake Delevan, right next to Geneva. They told me that the entire lake was closed to all boating traffic. I'm on Lake Michigan and the extra water has been nice.

The lake was never closed to traffic, but it was very slow on the weekend which was great ! I run around at hull speed anyway. Nobody followed the no-wake and I didnt see any tickets being issues. The diamond lady got stuck at gordy's I waved as they went out on Wednsday that week, they just got back in the harbor this last week. Lake was 18- 22 inches high but drained at 1 inch per day through the spillway.

oh.. ther where a few other boat stuck in the harbor for a week or so. For me I already have removed my radar arch, so drop the bimini and under I go.

Tdog.. If you get out this year yet.. Give me a shout and you can park next to my boat while you run in for some chow etc.. Things are getting nice and quiet out there..
