....before we're out for the season. Probably a night at anchor at Duck Island so the kids can dinghy over to the island and walk around it. Then tomorrow I will begin winterizing by hitting the pump out on the way in and flushing antifreeze through until it appears in the pump out again. This off season, pulling both engines to redo the motor mount stringers which are wet and have vertical cracks in them...always something to do on a boat...

Hope everyone enjoyed there season and were able to get out as often as they wanted. For us, we used our boat very little this season (count on one hand?) but our block trip made this season really great. Will have to see next year if owning/maintaining a boat is feasible based on expected usage.

I`ll be out this week, we didn`t use it as much as usual, but that was the plan. Finished up a lot of loose end projects at home that I`ve been neglecting for years because....well, I`d rather be out on the boat. We did Block, Greenport, Napatree once each, Block was over the Tropical storm July 4 weekend and was definately fun, several river runs, which after as many as we`ve done its still fun taking people out for a ride down, hit Selden Creek,or Hamburg or Essex for a cookout. winter improvement: New canvas and enclosure.

We pulled out last weekend. Took a short run down to Hamburg cove and saw what looked like a 36 to 38 ft cruiser sitting on the bottom in one foot of water right next to Eustasia Island Deep River. Sea Tow was just waiting there trying to slow traffic to a no wake and waiting for the tide to come in. Not a good way to end the season.

Scheduled to be pulled Nov. 15, so maybe one more chance for a run to LI, but not looking good for this weekend. Absolutely fantastic season...on the boat and cruising just about every weekend since early April, two week-long vacations at the 4th and Labor day...mostly great weather...flew by.
