Have a Lectra / San MC Sanitation device that started acting up last week. As a result I decided to give it the Treatment tank / Electrode cleaning, hoping it would bring unit back to normal operation. After the muriatic acid solution treatment.....no change. Press flush button; green lite comes on (not flashing, just solid). Then about 20 or so seconds; red flashing light comes on. Flashes once per second which indicates LOW TREATMENT. It'll stay flashing until I press reset button. Don't know what else to try.

Bill because I'm in brackish water; I add a tbl. spoon of salt in the standing water/waste & add another tbl. spoon to incoming flush water which was working just fine previously to current issue. So I'm thinking there's something else causing the current condition. Vic Willman where are you when I need you?

I have worked on a few check the voltages and make sure they are not sagging. There are also rivets on some of the older control boards that you might need to flow solder on.
The rivets were used to transfer power from one side of the circuit board to the other.

I know the fuse blocks go bad for some reason. Usually shows as blown fuse. Remove & check fuses to find out they are all (3) are good. Some times just placing back in fuse block & blown fuse light go out until next time. I've replaced block more than once.

The rivets on the actual fuse holders are the one's that you should flow solder on.

Resolved issue at least temporarily. Because boat slip is in brackish water unit requires add'l addition of salt which I had been doing. Spoke to Raritan re issue & after explaining symptoms & age of unit; tech suggested much larger doses of salt. Did the trick for now !

I can't speak for BarrenRiver but perhaps he was commenting on the acid bath and then not using enough salt could deteriorate the Electro-pack in the LectraSan?
Bill

I was referring to not enough salt. I recently talked with Mac at Raritan in Ft Lauderdale and he was telling me lots of people down that way were switching from LectraSans and Scans to the Purasan, because of the brackish water, and the problem you are having.

My ElectroScan is sitting in my garage. It needs an electrode pack. My Purasan you'd have to pry from my cold dead hands. The former gave me issue mainly in FL and the Bahamas. I had the over priced salt feed unit in the brackish chesapeake.

I originally bought a Lectra-San before I even installed it after reading about it, I ordered a PuraSan and gave the unit to my slip neighbor.
I'm not a fan, the unit draws high current compared to the PuraSan unit and the brackish water/ external need for salt issue is a PIA too me.
Bill

Agreed, Bill. The electrode pack is one PITA, the salt is another. In the Chesapeake I was going through a big back of water treatment salt every other week (with just weekend use).

Re my Lectra/San unit, because of the brackish water in marina is why I add salt manually; no big deal. In bay or ocean; no need to add salt.
