After 3 miserable days, the forecast is for improving weather getting up to the 90's on Friday and Saturday.

Time to start thinking about taking a day off from work on Friday to stretch the weekend out.

I may be gun shy about doing that Mike after last Fridays debacle!

Still have repairs to make...

So if the weather is fine and the wind is from the south and assuming I can get the anchor roller replaced I may have to anchor out at Croton only 420' from shore in front of the swimming area blocking the view of the park commissioner and see if I get a request to move. Might be a bit stressful....

We'll be at Roundout Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues so lets hope the weather holds up. After that, we're planning on spending Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun at Croton Point. Look for us, we'll be easy to spot, we'll be the only boat less than 750' from shore. I'm going to anchor and swim where my kids are safe.

Chris, we'll be around Labor Day weekend (ouch - hate the sound of that!)- I'm off Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tue, maybe we'll hook up!

Mike, only if you're willing to violate the 750' rule. I'm really looking foward to having all that space to ourselves.

Chris, If I go to Croton, I can guarantee you that I will be MUCH closer than 750' from shore, I'll be on the drop-off line - right along the red line:

Croton sounds like a plan. Lets hope the weather is in our favor.

You will all have nice weather this weekend. I can not be out there since we are finally moving. Enjoy and have 12 or so beers for me.

Mike, that's my chart that you doctored(well I scanned it)....why'd you "white out" the Croton Yacht Club, we need the press. Sorry, but we usually get out too late to get that prime location, we're more in towards the condos.

I had been thinking of making a trip up to meet you guys for Labor Day weekend but I decided it's not going to fit into our plans. I'm going to keep that weekend free for an overnight tuna trip, I thought by now I'd have at least one in but it hasn't happened yet. Looks like we probably won't make a Hudson trip this year, next summer we'll do it again.

JohnC,

No trip to Liberty Landing this year???

A guy that works for me went on the Canyon Runner this week, 14 yellowfin, 2 longfin on an overnight chunking trip.

Fish-On!!!

Jonathan

Sorry to hear that, John, it's always nice to see you guys.

Yes, always nice to see you guys too, just not enough weekends to fit everything in!

Gonna be a fantastic weekend, weatherwise. Hope everyone can get out and enjoy it - remember, next weeekend is Labor Day

Going fishing tomorrow, hope it's not a oven out there, praying for a breeze.

Fluke season in NJ ends Spet 10th. Gotta get some more. Totally sux!

Rub it in why dont ya?

If anyone had a chance to get out on the river yesterday 8/23, it was unusually flat( GLASS!). It was flat all the way from Haverstaw to lower NY Bay. To take it a step further, it stayed that way way until the evening hours. Beside no good fishing catch in the ATL highlands area and a few nucklehead fishing boaters, What A DAY!!!

P.S. If there were a market on Sea Robins, I'd be trading in my 32 for a Yacht.

That's not encouraging news.

I understand the fishing has been horrible all week.

Gonna have to go 15-20 miles out I think to catch the flatties!!!

Jonathan

I didn't realize NJ had a closed season this year. In NY they bumped the size limit to 19.5" but no closed season. There have been some big fluke caught recently.
