Anyone have any idea what is going on with the amount of macerating going on in the Sassafras River? This is the 3rd weekend in a row we have seen it float by us.

That's just dandy. We'll be seeing it in the Chesapeake soon!

Isn't it illegal?

Assuming that it isn't a malfunction of a municipal sewer plant, it might be time to contact the "pottie police." It is illegal to discharge a toilet directly overboard or to pump out a holding tank into the water - unless you're 3 miles or more out in the ocean - it's a $2000.00 federal fine if you get caught.

I know that they are seriously working on the plant at the top of the Elk River in Elkton and that it has caused some beaches (Hack's Point) to close.

The good news is they are completely redoing the plant which people in the know told me to never ever swim on the Elk.....you should see the construction....don't know if it will hit you in the sassy....depends how far in you are.
