I had pumped out quite a while back in anticipation of cooler weather. But given that I was off shore today, I decided to add some water to the holding tank and pump out again to kind of rinse the tank.
The plan was to then add antifreeze before one final pumping. So I half-filled the holding tank (6 gallon tank directly below the porta potti)with water and turned on the macerator.
The macerator ran and ran, but nothing pumped out. Eventually it shut down. I think it blew a fuse, which I'll check out tomorrow, but I'm trying to understand what might have happened.
What can it mean if the macerator is running, but it isn't pumping anything?
