We are looking for suggestions on which marina to use this fall. We want to dock for two weeks, maybe a full 30 days from this weekend and then have the boat stored there over the winter. I reached out to Viking Marine and they have space and will alow me to work on the boat over the winter (important for us). I did inquire at Peekskill yatch club, but I have not heard back yet and I do not have my own stands or blocking yet. We like the folks we met at Cortlandt Yatch club, but have not been able to contact the marina office yet. Anyone have the phone number?
So, where would you dock?
We live in Yorktown Heights just over the Cortlandt town line off of RT 129.
TIA

I've had a relationship with viking for 10 years now, and wintered with them for 4 seasons - great place if DIY is important. Inar, Fred and the family are top notch!

I'm a member of the Croton Yacht Club and keep my boat there...I live just off 129 across from Black Rock Park in Croton. The CYC can handle a 30' boat but you'd have to supply your own jack stands (see Randy King) and be out of the water by 10/31. Most important, you can work on your own boat, no problems there. Also, the CYC is the closest marina to your house although I guess HMB has us beat by a 1/4 mile. Or rates are $30/ft for winter storage which includes haul, launch and power wash.

The downside with working clubs is they usually have to get the boats out a bit earlier since the crew (members) only work on weekends.

I'll be keeping mine at viking this winter. I've only heard good things about them and the DIY is great to have.

Thank you! We will be on Dock B at Viking. The wife and I plan to be there Sat night and hope to be out on the water Sunday. If you are at the marina, please stop by. The boat is a 87 Silverton 34X and still has the previous owner's name of Dirty Laundry.

For some reason, I thought you were talking about a 30' boat, my bad. We have a 35' LOA limit at CYC so you'd be too big. Before buying my Silverton 330SB, I looked at the 34X, that's one nice boat. I really liked the aft-cabin design as you could stand up in it and get dressed. There's no breaking down the dinette table to sleep four. My problem was the fact it measures out near 40' LOA...bad for me, great for you!

Viking is a great marina, I kept my old boat there for a couple of years. Good Luck with the boat and welcome to the Hudson!!

A small change: we will be docked at Half Moon Bay for two weeks or so and then be bringing her up to Viking for winter storage around Nov 3rd. HMB is much closer to me and they made me a great offer $ wise that I just couldn't pass up.
