Well, it quit in the river again. I had the idea it was something overheated, so I didn't crank it a lot. Instead anchored with the engine cover open and it started normally after half an hour.
We'd sat at a marina about half an hour, idled for a few minutes, and it turned rough, slowed down, quit, and wouldn't restart. There WAS an exhaust smell, a bitter, take-your-breath-away scent, not the rich, gassy, flooded smell.
This engine SN 0F800... has a mechanical lift pump and an electric pump in a VST canister. It is not the Cool Fuel design. I don't see a pressure test port on the VST or EFI throttle body. Is there a way to connect an automotive EFI pressure tester to the VST or a fuel pump/vacuum gauge to the mechanical lift pump?
Thanks and
