I don't recall the specs, but the new bridge is located right where the original one was, but it is longer and wider. In order to make the grade manageable (to accomodate the new height)the length had to be increased substantially.
The new bridge starts where the dock company's lot is (the old boat sales lot on the left of the road prior to ME) and it ends just past the office of D'Anna boat sales (formerly Carter's Marine, the Bayliner dealer).
A new entrance had to be made for ME, Keller's Liquor and to access the levee road. It is before the bridge on the right side. If you miss it, you go over the bridge and past ME.
Now, you can't even see ME from the bridge unless you are in an SUV/pickup/etc..
So, the new bridge has essentially killed all "drive-by" traffic and unless you want to get there, you won't even know that you missed it.
I had a few conversations with Joe prior to them building the new bridge and what has happened is (sadly) EXACTLY what he predicted.
Yet, "they" call it "progress"... [:-boggled] [:-banghead]
