Anyone got a read on Moriches yet this year?
Was just looking at the LNM and it sounds like the regular channel is back!

NY-SHINNECOCK BAY TO EAST ROCKAWAY INLET (Chart 12352)-MORICHES BAY and HART COVE

The severe shoaling that was reported in Moriches Bay along the Long Island Intracoastal Waterway north of Moriches Inlet and Bird Island in the
vicinity of Moriches Bay Buoys 26, 27, 28 and 29 has been dredged and removed. The alternate channel that was established in the Hart Cove
area to by-pass the shoaling in the main channel has now begun to shoal in and is no longer available as an alternate route. Mariners should be
aware that the Aids to Navigation in these areas have been deemed unreliable due to shoaling and mariners are advised to seek alternate routes.

Guy from my marina spoke with sea tow about 3 weeks ago.... They were unimpressed with the project. But yes its a passable for NOW ! .

Have a wedding out in Montauk in July and very seriously considering taking the boat out there for that weekend and just sleeping on it instead of trying to rent a place.. Hoping it remains passable.

Were heading to riverhead as soon as we havea clear day. We go outside... The forecast is rain filled and WINDY !!!!

When you heading there? I had to delay launch due to some work needed so not sure when I will get out there.

From Seatow Moriches.

I ran the channels today east and west of the Moriches Coast Guard station and I'm happy to report that at low tide the shallowest water I found was 5 and a half feet, and right now it's a pretty straight run from bouy 17 through 29. It is a bit narrow between 18 and 20 but plenty of water. Keep in mind that there is alot of sand moving through the entire area and this could change rapidly under the right conditions.
The east and west cuts are presently in fine shape also.
