I am purchasing a 1993 Thompson 3400 Santa Cruz with 400 hours on it. I am in Minnesota so putting the boat in the water for a test is impossible. Can you suggest any tests or checks that could be done to insure that the motors are functional? The drives look to be in perfect condition. The only external issue I see is on the starboard engine (454's) the exhause manifold has an old crack in it. I checked the freeze plugs on the motor and they are fine, I assume at some time in the past the manifolds either were not drained properly or are defective. I have negotiated the price of the boat well below the retail price, but I still want to have some confidence that I wont have too many problems. Thanks for your help
