Im all checked in at Jack London Square marina. The bay is more choppy but the beauty is as soon as I exit Oakland Estuary I'm in the thick of it. Treasure island straight ahead, SF waterfront just a few miles away, Tiburon and Sausalito about 10 miles away.

so far I am enjoying the new location. Martinez wasnt bad but with Glenn Cove shut down there were no good day trip locations near by.

We move our boat to Jack London every winter. We love it there and I am sure you will too.

Thanks. Where do you keep your boat in the summer?

Wayne,

We often move our boat down to Jack London Square in the fall and winter too. You're going to love it there, between the restaurants, farmers market, plenty of boating destinations it is a great location. We might stay there year round if there were more overnight type of destinations; for that we find the Delta to be far superior. There's nothing like hanging on the hook in a quiet delta slough.

How crowded does the marina look at present? Are there many 50 foot slips open and available? I've been thinking of coming down for a month or two to catch up on some maintenance and use the boat during the calm fall months on the Bay.

Wayne,

We keep our boat at St. Francis Yacht Clubs Tinsley Island in the Delta all summer.

After I bought the boat, we kept it at Jack London Square for about six months. Unfortunately, after a while, there was not much to do around there and the constant noise of the trains passing by even during the night was driving my wife crazy. We are now in Sausalito where we are enjoying our weekends in a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere with many places to walk or ride our bikes. San Francisco is only seven miles away and the kids love to go to Angel Island which is only a few minutes away. This summer we spent only two weeks in the Delta but I'm planning to spend at least a month next year.

Hi Dave,

I like it there too. There are plenty of vacant slips right now. You should have no problem getting one. Sausalito has some overnight destinations, granted it's not nearly as quiet and serene as the delta.

I was on boatingsf.com and found quite a few waterfront restaurants. The Ramp appears to be the closest so I might try them out soon.
