Thousands of people came by foot, car and boat, but the fireworks in Bayshore never materialized. Would have been nice if someone could have told us! It was mentioned on several websites that the show was gonna happen. The so-called community leaders have no regard for the public! We all came out for a show while they knew all along that there wasn't going to be one! Why do we pay the highest taxes in the nation only to get dissed like this? By the way, the boating public which had to be many hundreds if not thousands, as far as the eye could see, were very well behaved! Just goes to show how irrelevant the authorities (which were non-existent there) really are! I did pass by one on the way home in Babylon and he was going with emergency lights on about 10 knots. Am I the only one who is pissed off?

I don't let government blunders get to me. If I did I would be pissed every day. I pay my taxes and never look back. Personally there are a lot better places that money can go. When will they fix bergen docks? Destroyed in Irene and still not fixed. Pump out too

Why would anyone with power tell the public that there will be no fire works. That would only make sense.

Like Dave, I pay what I have to pay and do not look back. Yes the money could go to better things, BUT the area we live in simply is the best place in the world.

Your right, but when your biggest bills are local taxes I think you have a right to expect something other than red light cameras and building dept. fees for your money.

We get no respect! The imates truly did take over the asylum, we now work for them....
