Looked at the SAMS website and found three Surveyors in the area. Anyone have experience with these guys?

1. John Chilton
2. John Walker
3. Buddy Stewart

They will be surveying a 45 Carver with 480 Volvo diesels.
 
John Chilton did my carver 355 in may 2006. did a fantastic job.
spen approx 7 hours going over everything possible. would use
him again. good luck
 
Second the recommendation of John Chilton; he's very thorough, welcomes you to watch the survey; explains reasons for his findings and tells you which are worth worrying about and which can be set aside for later action. He knows who to recommmend for any follow-up work, and is a trusted source even after the survey is done. I've used him several times and would not consider any purchase unless he gave it the all clear. He also does insurance surveys for Boat US and perhaps other companies - his reports are never questioned.

Noticed your homeport; I grew up on Lake Hartwell, are you moving to Nashville or looking at a local boat to take back there? If a local boat, perhaps I know it?
