New boat, first time fishing.

My son John and his friend went out Saturday with his buddy's new 29' Proline CC/twin 250HP outboards.
13-15 miles off Boca,hooked 2 Dolphin over 30#.
Short time later,They spotted a couple of birds sitting on a floating cable spool and they ran over to check it out. Big school of Mahi, bigger than most schoolies were hitting anything they tossed at them. No other boats around.
Just one of those rare great fishing days. Nice way to christen the new boat.
I was stuck at home doin honey do stuff.[:-cry][:-cry][:-cry]

Rare day, great day. Fishing is fun. Catching is funner!
 
Is there no limit on the number of fish per person per day??? Nice pics of great catches!

Dolphin 20” fork Atlantic 10 per person per day, not to exceed 60 per vessel per day statewide A saltwater products license, a restricted species endorsement and a federal commercial vessel permit are needed to sell dolphin, exceed the 10 fish bag limit, or exceed 60 per vessel per day

Looks to me like they were OK.

Sounds like a great day of fishing and enjoying the outdoors. They really stacked the boat with fish; I'm jealous!
 
You just caught the entire quota for the NY area for next year.
I hope you're selling them cause you can't eat that many?

Flutterby, As G has mentioned, Limit is 10 per person. They caught 28 keepers between John,Bruce and Chip.

Capt.Art, The boys divided the catch between family and friends. I got some nice fillets, Ann and I had some for dinner this evening, no bones, good filleting job.

Absoloot, This was Bruce's first trip on his new boat and his first fishing trip. He wanted to catch every thing in the ocean. He is still on cloud 9. BTW, They also hauled in 4 5 gallon gas. jugs, 3 were full(Gasoline) 1 3/4 full. Must have slipped off someones dive platform, Dontcha think?.

Brian, Send me a couple of Moose steaks and Ill see if I can get you a couple of Mahi fillets.:D

King5899, Seems to be a lot of Dolphin staying around our area this year. Also lots of Lobster. Maybe its the hot weather,The ocean is warm.

I had hobby of fishing and i really enjoy it.There are some limit to catch fish per day like Dolphin 20” fork Atlantic 10 per person per day.
