new engines

I don't have a Carver but I replaced my engines, transmissions and V drives on my 1993 40' Mainship. I am very happy I went with Mercruisers with the digital engine displays. I had to also change props but the boat went from 16-17knot cruise to 23 knots at cruise and my old WOT was 25knots it's now slightly over 30 knots. I have 8.1L HO's and replaced 7.4Ls. Good luck with the project I am very happy it was done, I also changed the generator I wanted to start with all -0- hour engines. I plan on keeping the boat at least another 10 years. Regards Bill
 
Hmmm, regarding CR trannys, how much modification do you need to do in your engine bay to fit one in? Are they much larger or any other shape than the originals???

Also, anyone happen to know if there are counterrotating trannys to fit Ford engines???
