Hi All!

New to us in June, 1990 Carver Montego 3257. Our latest project is installing an HDTV antenna. My challenge is finding 12v in the galley/salon on the port side.

I found a bunch of radio equipment behind and under the top passenger seat, but I can't really access it. I want to hear (confirm) I can access this equipment's wiring if I remove the seat.

I am told I could use the radio's 12v for the antenna signal booster. Let me know if this will be an issue and where I might be better off taking it from.

Thank you!
Robb

Not much to go by in your post, but having setup TV's in a few of our current and past boats, we've always run TV, it's antenna and power, DVD and kids gaming consoles off of an inverter on two isolated 12V batt's in parallel. Runs all day with plenty to spare.

Other than that I couldn't see an antenna drawing much to be split from the radio equipment in your post, or perhaps tap into the dc to the fridge if it's nearby.

Thank you for the input, Tommy.

The fridge is near, but the wiring is behind the cabinets. There is a JB I can (sort of) get to, but have to see if it has AC or DC wiring. It'll be fun when I start taking things apart....

Edit: I suppose you meant I could slide the fridge out and capture the 12v there. Nice!
