New SeaEra for Admiral

I am getting ready to install a Seaera, purasan with hold n treat system. I noticed that the discharge tubing size really isn't clearly specified. I would like to install 1" odorloss (or something) all the way through since it's a tight situation. Is this reasonable? Also the Purasan, holding tank, and toilet are all at the same level above waterline - do I need a vented loop somewhere? Thanks for the help!

If the SeaEra will have a straight discharge fitting (pointing off to the right, when looking at it), it can accomodate either 1" or 1 1/2" hose but if you use the 90 degree elbow fitting, it can ONLY accomodate 1 1/2" hose.

Odor-Safe hose is only made in 1 1/2" (as far as I've ever heard). 1 1/2" is the standard for the marine industry. Only Jabsco and Galley Maid use 1" discharge hose. If all the components will be above the waterline, you shouldn't need a vented loop.

Why do you want to install a Hold 'N Treat system, when you're on the Sassafras River and Chesapeake Bay?

The Hold N Treat is to use at our marina, at other marinas without good currents or tidal flows, and when we're anchored and people are swimming around the area. I was wondering about the hose size - why does the toilet need 1 1/2" hose? I would think it would be easier to to keep a smaller hose flushed clean with water. Could I use 1" hose (Trident makes a smaller hose) from the holding tank through the Purasan?

OK, now I understand, re: the Hold 'N Treat.

Purasan REQUIRES 1 1/2" hose between it and the through-hull. The standard for the whole marine industry is 1 1/2" discharge hose. Jabsco and Galley Maid are the lone exceptions. The reason for the larger diameter hose is to keep clogging to a minimum. If you've ever had to take apart a marine toilet's discharge hose when it was clogged up [:-yuck], you'd understand completely. If you look at the inside of the fittings that are used with 1" I.D. hose, they are barely 3/4".
