Picked up a 1983 28' Bayliner Command bridge yesterday. Bought it along with a trailer.
It will be a welcome change from my old boat, I will be able to set back in the cabin and be able to look outside.
Hope to get it outfitted today, and set it up for a week on the water. Thinking about putting in at Brannon Island tomorrow and spend the week putting around, and may try a little Salmon fishing which starts today on the Sacramento River.

Great news, Dennis and Mary. Did you sell the Sea Ray?

Looking fwd to lots of pics.

Does it look like this?

Liz, I'll take some pics this week while I'm on the water.
Al, Havent sold the SeaRay yet, but it will go up for sale soon. Mary said one boat is enough.
The boat looks like the one in the pic, without the radar arch.

Great Dennis! How is it powered? Twins???? That is a perfect fishing platform IMO.

You're going to love having a flybridge on the delta. So much to see beyond the levees. Plus, having the trailer opens up all the area lakes, too...and no slip fees. Very nice!!

I see another BE Raft-up in our future.

Liz, It has twin Volvo Penta V8s. I believe it cruises around 28 MPH, forget what WOT was. I think I'll be putting around most of the time at 10 MPH.
Planning on putting in at Brannan Island tomorrow with my nephew, then Mary will join me on Tuesday, and spend a couple of days. Then I might come back on Friday, or maybe stay until Sunday. Will play it by ear.
Al, ready for the raft up, let me know when.
Don't think I will ever own a boat without a trailer. I'm looking forward to next year taking it to Tahoe. I know I wont be taking it up Hwy 88 like I did with the other boat. At 10' wide I will be going up Hwy 50. Hwy 89 from South Lake Tahoe to Meeks where I launch should be fun, but once there it will be all forgotten for a week.

I can tell you for a fact you wont be going up 50 with a wide load like that. I belive the only way you can take a wide load up 50 is with a pilot car and maybe even a CHP escort you can go to the caltrans website and see what is required.

The other hassle with Tahoe is the inspection you have to go through in order to launch the boat, not to mention the inspection fees.

If that pix is like your boat, it sure looks like a lot of boat for the size.:D

Put the boat in at Brannan Island on Sunday, and found out they close and lock the gates on Monday evening , and you cant go in or out until Wednesday. So We went to Mildred and stayed overnight. Monday went back to Brannon and put the boat on the trailer and brought it back to Stockton and put in at Ladds. Went over to Village West Marina and stayed there all week.
Had a great time, looking forward to the next trip.
Here's some pictures of the boat.

First thing to do is change the name, Cant remember the last time I was called sweet. The new name will be Mary Elizabeth.

She looks great Dennis, I'm sure you're going to love the above the water salon and the view from the flybridge. Congrats on the new ride!

LOL Up here were I live, there is a septic company named Sweet Pea! Maybe the owner had your boat when it was named.....

She is a beaut! And I like her new name.

Wow!! Sweet looking ride there, dvan! Got some interior pics, too?

What are you towing her with? Easy tow?

Looks like you have the best of both worlds there...big enough to sleep on, small enough to tow. I look fwd to seeing her in person.

Just got back from another week on the boat. Had to fill in for one of my mechanics which works the night shift. Worked out great, worked until 5am then went to the boat. Cant sleep during the day anyway, I would get up around 8am and set around on the boat, do a little fishing, and nap all day.
Will work this week, and then take a weeks vacation, and then back on the water again.
I only had the other boat out two times the whole summer, and now I will have been on the water 3 out of 5 weeks. Hope I dont burn myself out, but its the end of the season anyway, and will be all forgotten by next year.

Dave, I see what you mean about the different view. Totally different view of the bikinis from the flybridge.
Al, dont have any interior pics, you will have to set up a raft up and look at it in person.
I tow it with a 05 GMC 2500 with the Duramax, the previous owner had a 3 axle trailer built for it a year and half ago, so no worries on that end.

I'm so glad you are having the opportunity to really use and enjoy your new boat!!! You should be able to enjoy it up until about Thanksgiving time if you have a heater onboard. And I recommend you plan to be at one of the many Christmas Lighted Boat Parades held in the area in early December!!! They are fun to watch and maybe someday you'll get the bug to decorate your boat and participate too!
