We're thinking about hitting the Newburyport Riverfront Festival on Saturday, July 11 and doing an overnighter. Can anyone recommend a marina that isn't crazy rolly. Loud is OK. We're 31 feet. Thanks in advance.

Steve,

the city docks are the best deal in town. Water and power available. You will be right in the middle of the festivities. Call the Newburyport Harbormaster to see if you can get a reservation - may be first come, first serv ed.

It is first come first serve except for giant boats and I believe there's going to be an 110' footer in there

Boy, hope you found a spot. I went past the town docks that morning on my way out. You couldn't get a slice of bread between the boats. That's the most crowded I've ever seen that place.

It wasn't that crazy actually - got there Saturday morning about 8 and rafted with a friend at American for a bit, went up river for a couple of hours, went back to AYC then went ashore to catch some live music on the waterfront then supported the ecomony at the Grog. Left for Portsmouth about 8PM and ran into 5 to 7 footers on the way. A guy on the docks was telling the story of someone's SeaRay guest being industrially seasick all the way back from the Isles of Shoals earlier. One foot seas today so I've ended up at Marina Bay in Quincy. Awesome day. If my boss reads this, I'm dead!
