I've got this problem with one of my cold water faucets. When you turn it on, it either has very low pressure or will not turn on the water pump at all. The boat has three faucets and the other two seem to be functioning ok.

Any ideas where to start on fixing this?
thanks

Well, that has to go down in the "Helpful Posts Hall of Fame" Jim.

Crunch, are you saying the hot water side is OK? If so, I had the same issue. Turned out the ceramic discs had worn out on the cold water side. In my case replacing the whole faucet was the only viable cure; got better looking faucets with replaceable discs and all is well.

I'm inclined to agree with Tanqueray, if the other faucets work correctly, then the pump and plumbing are basically OK. I'd remove the strainer from the end of the spout to see if it's clogged with sediment. Try opening the faucet with the strainer off and see if it works then. If it does, clean the strainer and put it back on. If it doesn't, something is wrong with the faucet itself, and you'll need to take it apart to see what's going on with it. It might need to be replaced...

Thanks all,
Yes, the Hot water coming thru the same screen works fine. Think George may be right. George, may I ask where you bought your replacement Faucet?
tks

Tom: We had a problem recently with a faucet, and we have Ambassador Faucets, and I contacted the company, and they replaced at N/C , just the shipping fee.

Had same problem. Found cold side had a ball of calcium trapped in the faucet body. Removed guts, and blew compressed air backwards into the faucet, and the obstruction came out the bottom. Good Luck.

UPDATE:

Problem was a defective faucet. The Ball Valve on the cold water side would only barely open up. Replaced with a Scandvik (SP)faucet and is working great.
thanks for the help.

Thanks for letting us know what the problem was; that's how we all learn. All too often, one of us will offer a suggestion, but we never hear back from the person with the problem. So we don't know for sure if our suggestion was right - or not.

CC sorry I didn't respond to your question. Skandviks are fine; we just bought some high quality SS Danze faucets from a plumbing supply store. I mean, it's fresh water we're dealing with here. Anyway, glad we were of some help. Like Vic said, it's always nice when someone reports back with the ultimate resolution.
